In The Gambia, escalating violence along the border with Casamance is causing fear among residents in affected communities.
National Assembly Member for Foni Bintang Karani, Bakary K. Badjie, has raised alarm over renewed fighting, noting that residents in areas such as Gifanga and Sibanor are hearing heavy gunfire.
Reports indicate that some shells have landed dangerously close to homes, heightening concerns for civilian safety.
Several residents have since fled to neighbouring villages in search of safety as tensions continue to rise.
