In The Gambia, the trial of Ousainou Bojang at the High Court in Banjul is nearing its final stages.
Bojang, the first accused in the 2023 Sukuta–Jabang Traffic Lights shooting, is facing multiple charges, including the murder of two police officers, attempted murder, and acts of terrorism.
The defence has questioned the credibility of key witnesses, pointing to gaps and inconsistencies in the prosecution’s case, and raising concerns about what it describes as “trial by media.”
From Banjul, Sang Donal Mendy reports.
