Civil society actors are urging regional governments to explore local resource mobilization and alternative funding mechanisms to address the impact of shrinking donor funds.

At a webinar organized by the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WASCI) on Thursday, speakers emphasized the need for African CSOs to innovate, adapt quickly, and work toward greater self-reliance. Recommendations included social enterprise models and partnerships that reduce dependence on external funding.
