At least 12 homes were torched over the weekend in Gumyoko, Binduri District, in what security officials suspect is a spillover from the protracted Bawku chieftaincy conflict.
This marks the second such attack in days, pushing the number of homes destroyed to over 20. The community had been largely abandoned due to escalating insecurity.
Eyewitnesses say the unidentified attackers returned to destroy remnants after residents fled weeks ago.
Security analyst Dr. Victor Doke warns the violence threatens to derail ongoing mediation efforts led by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu.
