Rescue teams in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, have saved four people from the debris of a two-storey building that collapsed on Saturday.
The building, located in the Kubwa area, had 45 apartments and was previously used as a hotel before being converted for residential use.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 6:45 am and teams from various agencies, including the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department, National Emergency Management Agency, and the Nigeria Police, were on the scene.
After about eight hours of rescue operation, the building was marked safe for demolition.
