First batch of Liberian refugees in Ghana arrive in Monrovia

The Head of the Liberia Refugee Repatriation Resettlement Commission, has revealed all stranded Liberians in Ghana will be repatriated within 90 days as the first batch arrive in Liberia.

The first batch of 770 stranded Liberians who were repatriated from the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana have arrived safely in Liberia following nearly four days of travel by road.

On Tuesday May 21, the stranded Liberians began their journey to return home after the local Ghanaian authority evicted them from the Buduburam Refugee Camp, citing their prolonged stay in Ghana.

WADR’s Darlington Porkpa witnessed the arrival ceremony and now reports.
