The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) has highlighted the staggering $90 billion lost annually through illicit financial flows in Africa.

A statement released on Thursday criticized how Africa’s vast resources, including gold, diamonds, and solar energy, often benefit a privileged minority while leaving most Africans impoverished.

This declaration follows discussions at the African Economic Conference in Gaborone, Botswana, focusing on actionable strategies to convert Africa’s wealth into prosperity for its citizens.
