In this edition of Arts and Culture, we’re taking you to a place where time itself feels different. Imagine stepping into a country where the year is not 2025… but 2018. Yes, you heard that right.
On September 11th, Ethiopians rang in a brand-new year, marking the end of one calendar and the beginning of another. Thanks to the Ethiopian calendar, one of the few in the world still proudly standing apart, the country is technically seven years behind the rest of the globe.

WADR’s Imoh Edet, fresh from a recent trip to Ethiopia, takes us into the rhythm, the rituals, and the everyday life of Africa’s second-most populous nation. Let’s explore.
