In Senegal, climate and health experts are urging African governments to ramp up investments in homegrown technologies, research, and innovation to counter the escalating climate crisis.
Speaking at the second edition of the Local Solutions Campus in Dakar, participants expressed concern over the low budgetary commitment many governments allocate to climate and health resilience.
They stressed that without strong local solutions, countries will remain vulnerable to climate shocks and public health emergencies.
The conference has brought together more than 500 delegates from 26 countries across Africa and Asia to discuss sustainable and locally driven approaches.
