In Nigeria, the European Union, UNICEF, and the International Labour Organization have jointly launched the Supporting Sustainable Social Protection System (SUSI) project.

The initiative was rolled out in Makurdi, Benue State, a region heavily impacted by displacement and humanitarian needs.

SUSI aims to strengthen Nigeria’s social protection systems to ensure more inclusive, crisis-resilient support for internally displaced persons and vulnerable populations.

Development partners say the project reflects a shared commitment to protecting human dignity and fostering sustainable recovery in affected communities.
