The European Union has approved €1.9 billion in humanitarian aid for 2025, with €510 million designated for Nigeria and other Sub-Saharan African countries.
The European Commission announced that this funding will support regions including West and Central Africa, the Sahel, the Lake Chad basin, North-West Nigeria, Central Africa, the Great Lakes region, and the Greater Horn of Africa.
This initiative aims to address escalating humanitarian crises projected to impact over 300 million people globally in 2025, prioritizing regions most affected by conflict, climate change, and food insecurity.
