An ECOWAS parliamentary delegation has arrived in Liberia to spearhead a campaign against drug abuse and the growing mental health crisis among young people in West Africa.
The high-level team has been meeting with government officials, agencies, and community leaders to raise awareness and build coordinated responses to these pressing social challenges.
Delegates stressed that drug and substance abuse not only harm individual health but also fuel crime, destabilize communities, and undermine economic progress.
The mission is part of a broader ECOWAS effort to promote public health, social stability, and youth empowerment across the region.
