In a pivotal moment for West Africa, ECOWAS has appointed President Diomaye Faye as the facilitator between the regional bloc and Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, three countries that decided to exit the community.
The move according to experts is taken by the regional bloc with a view to exhausting dialogue before any other significant decision.
The decision to appoint President Faye to mediate talks was taken by the heads of state at the 65th Ordinary Session of Heads of Authority and Government in Abuja on Sunday.
