The election observation mission from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union AU have declared the entire process of Senegal’s March 24 presidential election as satisfactory.
The mission in its report, commended the impressive turnout rate, the professional conduct of electoral staff, and the deployment of materials to thousands of polling centers.
Polls also opened early nationwide without any reported electoral violence but recorded a few incidents of invalid votes.
Led by Nigeria’s former minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Gamabari, the team made recommendations to improve on subsequent votes.
