Civil society actors from the West Africa have gathered in Accra Ghana for the third annual regional convening of civil society organizations by the West Africa Democracy Solidarity Network (WADEMOS Network).
The two conferences seek to amplify CSOs’ voices in regional development by promoting and deepening democratic principles and upholding good governance among members.
Our guest is WADEMOS Advocacy officer Austine Aigbe, who speaks about the significance of the conference with a passionate call for the effective institutionalization of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) body of ECOWAS, as it is the advisory body of the African Union designed to give civil society organizations (CSOs) a voice within the AU institutions and decision-making
