A Ghanaian security analyst, Alhassan Suleiman Bello, has cautioned that the government’s curfew in Bawku and Nalerigu will not resolve the long-standing conflict in the region.
Bello emphasized that true peace will only come when both Mamprusi and Kusasi communities are ready to compromise, adding that repeated military interventions have failed to deliver lasting results.
He also dismissed immediate fears of terrorist spillover from Burkina Faso but warned that the unrest could enable arms trafficking, posing a wider national security risk.
