The eviction operation in Abidjan’s autonomous district extended beyond houses, impacting a school in the working-class district of Yopougon Gesco.

The demolition not only displaced residents but also affected approximately 1,900 students who lost their classrooms.

In solidarity with the affected students, the Student and School Federation of Côte d’Ivoire (FESCI) undertook actions, including raids on several schools to protest the evictions.
