In Côte d’Ivoire, several young people are standing trial in a major cyber fraud case estimated at over one billion CFA francs.
They are accused of unauthorized access to computer systems, conspiracy to commit cybercrimes, and identity theft.
The suspects appeared before the court on Tuesday, marking the beginning of proceedings in one of the country’s largest cybercrime prosecutions.
Authorities say the case underscores growing concerns about digital fraud and the need for stronger cybersecurity enforcement in Côte d’Ivoire.
