Côte d’Ivoire’s voter registration exercise, initially scheduled to end on Sunday, has been extended by one week, now concluding on November 17, 2024. The extension, granted by a presidential decree from President Alassane Ouattara, provides additional time for eligible citizens to register.
This decision follows requests from the Ivorian opposition and has been positively received by many, as it offers more citizens an opportunity to participate in the electoral process. The extension is expected to increase voter inclusion ahead of upcoming elections.
