In Côte d’Ivoire, public reactions are mounting after the Constitutional Council released the final list of candidates for the October 25 presidential election.
Out of 60 applications submitted, only five were approved, including incumbent President Alassane Ouattara.
Notably, the bids of former President Laurent Gbagbo and Tidiane Thiam of the opposition PDCI were disqualified.
The exclusions are sparking debate in Abidjan, with citizens questioning the fairness and competitiveness of the upcoming polls.
