In Côte d’Ivoire, President Alassane Ouattara has met with UN Special Representative for West Africa and the Sahel, Leonardo Santos Simao.

Their talks on Thursday focused on the country’s socio-political climate ahead of next month’s presidential election, as well as broader security challenges facing the West African region.
