In Côte d’Ivoire, political attention is turning to opposition figure Soumaila Bredoumy, spokesman for the PDCI, who is expected to appear before the Abidjan Police Prefecture’s General Investigations Department this Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
The summons does not state the reason for his appearance, but it comes just days after Bredoumy returned to the country, having been away since before the October 2025 presidential election. His earlier summons was temporarily suspended following the intervention of National Assembly Speaker Adama Bictogo.
While Bictogo acknowledged the need for institutional dialogue, he stressed that lawmakers must comply with lawful summonses issued by competent authorities—a reminder of the delicate balance between political engagement and legal accountability.
