In Ivory Coast, the parliament has adopted, by majority decision, the bill ratifying the ordinance relating to the organization of civil society.
This order requires the promotion of gender in the governing bodies of CSOs, the presentation of an annual activity report and sets conditions for the receipt of donations.
This law has already been rejected by the Ivorian church, which fears an attack on religious freedom and state interference in religious affairs.
But for the Ivorian authorities, it is a question of fighting more effectively against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
