In Côte d’Ivoire, former Prime Minister Patrick Achi has been nominated to become the next President of the National Assembly.

Achi was named the candidate of the ruling RHDP party, which secured a landslide victory in the December 2025 legislative elections.

The nomination followed a meeting on Thursday between President Alassane Ouattara and nearly 200 RHDP parliamentarians elected during the recent polls.
