Côte d’Ivoire and Morocco have entered into a historic military cooperation agreement, marking the first of its kind between the two nations. The deal was sealed during Ivorian Defense Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara’s recent visit to Morocco.
His Moroccan counterpart, Abdeltif Loudyi, hosted the discussions, which focused on enhancing bilateral ties in defense and security. The agreement outlines collaboration across several military sectors, including training, intelligence sharing, and joint exercises.
This partnership aims to boost regional security and strengthen both nations’ defense capabilities in a time of growing security challenges in West and North Africa.
The deal highlights a growing trend of African nations forging intra-continental defense alliances, seeking homegrown solutions to shared threats.
