Côte d’Ivoire has officially opened the electoral campaign for the December 27 parliamentary elections, with candidates given eight days to canvass for support.
The Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) launched the campaign on Thursday, marking the start of nationwide political activities ahead of the polls.
Speaking at a press conference in Abidjan, CEI President Ibrahime Coulibaly Kuibiert called on candidates to prioritize issue-based debates.
He also urged political actors to uphold peace, social cohesion, and responsible conduct throughout the campaign period.
