In Côte d’Ivoire, former President Laurent Gbagbo has convened an extraordinary session of the Central Committee of his party, the African People’s Party of Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI).
The meeting is scheduled for March 12, 2026, at Gbagbo’s office in Attoban-Cocody in Abidjan, according to a statement from the party’s general secretariat.
The session forms part of preparations for the party’s first ordinary congress set for May 15, 2026.
Party officials say the congress will focus on revitalising the PPA-CI following its failed mobilisation against President Alassane Ouattara’s fourth term and the boycott of legislative elections largely won by the ruling RHDP.
