The Ivorian Popular Front’s (FPI) choice of Pascal Affi N’Guessan as its presidential candidate for the 2025 election has sparked internal discord. Issiaka Sangare, former FPI Secretary General and leader of the Democracy and Values faction, has publicly rejected N’Guessan’s nomination, stating that he does not recognize the party’s recent 5th congress where the nomination was made. Citing procedural irregularities, Sangare is rallying party members to support his faction, deepening divisions within the FPI as the election approaches.
