Côte d’Ivoire is set to officially transfer the 43rd Marine Infantry Battalion (BIMA) to its Armed Forces on February 20, 2025.

This transfer marks part of the organized withdrawal of French forces from the country.

Renovation work at the camp is underway, with plans to rename it in honor of the first chief of staff, Ouattara Thomas d’Aquin.
