The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) climate summit officially opened on Monday in Baku, Azerbaijan, marking the start of a pivotal global gathering on climate change. Delegations from over 100 countries, including heads of state, climate experts, political leaders, and civil society actors, have converged for discussions that will run until November 22, 2024.
With the theme ‘Solidarity in a Green World,’ COP29 aims to advance international climate policies, accelerate climate action, and promote global cooperation for a sustainable future. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, COP28 President, highlighted the progress made in the climate agenda, setting the stage for collaborative solutions to global environmental challenges.
