Close to 2,000 Ghanaians die from colorectal cancer each year, with 3,000 to 4,000 new cases recorded annually.

Professor Jonathan Dakubo of the University of Ghana Medical School says the disease is preventable with early treatment.

He cites poor diet, lack of exercise, and substance abuse as major risk factors and urges Ghanaians to adopt healthier lifestyles.

According to WHO, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths.
