In Chad, former Prime Minister and leader of the Transformateurs party, Succès Masra, was arrested at his residence early Friday morning.
According to Public Prosecutor Oumar Kedelaye, Masra is facing prosecution for alleged incitement to hatred and violence, as well as complicity in murder and arson.
Authorities link him to recent community clashes in the West Logone region that claimed over 40 lives. The prosecutor’s office says investigations are ongoing into Masra’s role in the unrest.
