The National Election Management Agency (ANGE) has cautioned Chadian political parties against declaring unofficial results from the December 28–29 elections, stressing its exclusive mandate to announce provisional outcomes.
With over eight million voters electing deputies, senators, and municipal councilors, the post-election period has been fraught with rising tensions. Opposition parties in Doba have accused the ruling MPS of ballot stuffing, while the UNDR party in Mayo-Kebbi Est has faced allegations of prematurely proclaiming results.
ANGE President Ahmed Bartchiret condemned these actions as violations of the electoral code and urged political actors to remain calm and respect due process. Provisional results are expected by mid-January.
