“Homowo”, which means “hooting at hunger,” is the Ga people’s most significant festival, celebrated annually in August with much joy and fanfare.
It commemorates the end of a great famine and the bountiful harvest that followed. But within this larger festival lies a special celebration “Akweley Suma” dedicated to twins.
