The Ministry of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety of Burkina Faso has been dissolved. The announcement was made at the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, chaired by Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
The meeting also adopted a decree of the new ministries of the country, resulting from the split of the MTMUSR.
During the government conclave, the Council of Ministers in Burkina Faso adopted a decree on the responsibilities of members of the government. This is a decision that aims to reorganize the responsibilities of members of the government on the composition of the government.
According to the statement of the Council of Ministers in Burkina Faso, the decree establishes the split of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security (MATDS).
By this, the Ministry of Transport, Urban Mobility and Road Safety of Burkina Faso has been abolished and its responsibilities relating to road control and safety have now been transferred to the Ministry of Security. Also, the transport and meteorology components will now be taken into account in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Mobility, reports said.
