President Bola Tinubu is expected to visit Benue State on Wednesday, June 18, following a wave of violent attacks that have left many grieving families in their wake. Ahead of the trip, the presidency announced urgent security interventions aimed at halting the violence.

These include enhanced border surveillance, deeper intelligence coordination among neighbouring states, stakeholder engagement, and the rapid deployment of tactical squads — a move already initiated with the arrival of the Inspector General of Police in the region.
