The Higher Council of Communication in Burkina Faso suspends the television channel TV5 Monde for six (6) months, accompanied by a fine of 50 million CFA Francs.
The Burkinabè audiovisual regulatory authority justifies its decision with an interview granted to the former president of the CENI, Hamed Newton Barry, in which he made remarks considered “tendentious” on the efforts made by the regime in place and the army to reconquer the territory.
TV5 Monde had already been temporarily suspended in Burkina Faso last April.
