Authorities in Burkina Faso have launched separate legal proceedings against two lawyers facing serious allegations.

At the Ouaga I High Court, Maître Ini Benjamine Esther Doli is under investigation for Facebook posts flagged in late August 2025. She faces charges of treason, insulting the Head of State, and attempting to demoralize the armed forces. Prosecutors said the case will follow due process and protect her rights.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Barnabé Compaoré at the Fada N’Gourma Court of Appeal announced proceedings against lawyer Paul Kéré. He is accused of using a handgun during a dispute in Zano, an incident that left one person critically injured and raised local tensions.

Both cases underscore the growing scrutiny of public figures and professionals in Burkina Faso, amid heightened political and social sensitivities.
