Military authorities in Burkina Faso have released new details about the foiled coup attempt reported on January 3.
In a televised address late Tuesday, the Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, named former transitional president Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba as the main suspect.
The minister said the alleged plot involved both military personnel and civilians.
Authorities say the plan was aimed at destabilising the state, as investigations into the incident continue.
