In Burkina Faso, a terrorist attack over the weekend has resulted in several dozen deaths. Armed men targeted the commune of Barsalogho, in the Center-North region, while a social event was underway involving civilians and the Defense and Security Forces.

Numerous people were also injured and are being treated in the city of Kaya.

The Burkinabe government has condemned the attack and announced free medical treatment for those injured in the attack has been initiated in Kaya, the capital of the Center-North region.

According to government spokesperson Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, some of the injured have been transferred to Ouagadougou, the capital.
