Burkina Faso has expressed strong support for Niger’s transitional process as a parliamentary delegation joined the launch of Niger’s Consultative Council for Refoundation (CCR).

Led by Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, President of Burkina Faso’s Transitional Legislative Assembly, the delegation arrived in Niamey on Friday, June 27, 2025. They were warmly received by Dr. Mamadou Harouna Djingarey, head of Niger’s CCR.

Burkina Faso’s parliament described the visit as a show of solidarity and a move to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). Dr. Bougouma emphasized the importance of regional unity in supporting Niger’s transitional goals.

The CCR’s inaugural session, which begins on Saturday, aims to shape Niger’s future through inclusive consultations on political, economic, and social reforms.
