Burkina Faso’s army has established a commissary with the aim of meeting the specific logistical and social needs of its members and their families, by providing them with essential products at affordable prices.
As one of the key measures of the Council of Ministers this Wednesday, the Burkinabe government has established a Defense Forces and Security Forces Economat.
For the executive, it is a mechanism of logistical and social support adapted to the needs of the Defense Forces and the Security Forces.
The army says this measure is in response to combatant forces and their families facing difficulties accessing consumer goods and essential equipment.
It hopes that with this, it will have a direct impact on their morale and operational effectiveness.
According to the government, the creation of a Commissary for the benefit of the army, and I quote, “is an initiative intended to relieve the burden on personnel of the Defense Forces and the Security Forces as well as their families by providing products at affordable prices.”
