In this edition of Book Review, we will be reading through an amazing book titled “Glory” written by a Zimbabwean NOVIOLET BULAWAYO.
Published in 2022, Glory is NoViolet Bulawayo’s second novel, following her acclaimed debut We Need New Names.
This book is inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, Glory is a satirical allegory set in the fictional African country of Jidada, ruled by animals.
The novel draws heavily from real events in Zimbabwe’s political history—especially the ousting of Robert Mugabe—and uses anthropomorphism and fable-like storytelling to examine tyranny, propaganda, resistance, and hope.
Let’s join John Agu of our partner station Albarka Radio in Bauchi Nigeria for the review.
