Liberian President Joseph Boakai has called for deeper regional unity and cooperation to address West Africa’s pressing economic challenges. Speaking at the 2025 West Africa Economic Summit in Abuja, Nigeria, Boakai emphasized that economic transformation must go hand in hand with political stability and shared prosperity.
He commended Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership in hosting the summit, which also commemorates ECOWAS’s 50th anniversary.
The Liberian leader’s remarks come at a time when the region faces inflation, youth unemployment, and insecurity. His message was clear: only together can West Africa achieve sustainable development.
