Liberian President Joseph Boakai has called on African leaders to take charge of addressing the continent’s security challenges through justice, reconciliation, and community-led solutions.

Speaking at the 2nd Lomé Peace and Security Forum, President Boakai reflected on Liberia’s transformation from conflict to stability, emphasizing that sustainable peace begins with inclusive governance and national healing.

He urged for unified, African-led strategies to tackle violent extremism, military coups, inequality, and climate-induced displacement—issues he said threaten the continent’s collective progress.

The forum, which brought together African Heads of State, diplomats, and peacebuilding experts, serves as a continental platform for dialogue on governance, security, and regional stability.
