In Benin, the Caucus of Women Parliamentarians is calling for stronger female representation in the National Assembly. The lawmakers also want more women in communal, municipal, and local councils, as well as other key decision-making roles.
Their appeal, launched on Tuesday in Cotonou, aims to address gender imbalances in political leadership.
They argue that women’s perspectives are essential for inclusive governance and sustainable national development.
