In Benin, religious leaders have called on national stakeholders to ensure peaceful and transparent elections in 2026.

The appeal was made during a three-day seminar organized by the Consultative Framework of Religious Denominations, held from September 2 to 4, 2025.

Participants stressed the importance of avoiding electoral violence and safeguarding the integrity of the process.

The recommendations aim to strengthen trust between citizens, political actors, and institutions ahead of the crucial polls.
