In Benin, less than a year before the 2026 presidential election, opposition forces are uniting.
The Progressive Union for Renewal (UPR), the Republican Bloc (BR), and the Cowry Forces for an Emerging Benin (FCBE) have agreed to form a strategic alliance.
The pact was sealed on Tuesday during a signing ceremony in Cotonou, attended by party leaders and representatives.
Analysts say the move signals a major step in reshaping the political landscape as the country heads toward a decisive vote.
