Benin: MP Soumaïla Boké Makes First appearance before CRIET for allege incitement to rebellion
Elsewhere in Benin, Member of Parliament, Soumaïla Sounon Boké made his first appearance before the Court for the Repression of Economic Crimes and Terrorism (CRIET) on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
The Opposition Democrats MP was arrested on charges including electronic harassment and incitement to rebellion, in connection with the attempted coup d’état of December 7,2025.
While in court, the lawmaker pleaded not guilty to all charges.
