The Beninese government has incorporated new elements into the annual voodoo celebration, which took place on Wednesday. The Vodun Days, observed on January 9 and 10 in Ouidah, the spiritual epicenter of this religion and an important part of Benin’s heritage and culture, were particularly vibrant this year.
Ouidah, situated a short distance west of Cotonou, is bustling with both locals and tourists.
The streets resound with the beats of drums and the rhythm of dancers, and President Patrice Talon graced the occasion.
Jean Michel Abimbola, the Minister of Worship in Benin, has been speaking at this cultural event.
